This morning, the "Everybody's a Little Bit Racist" popped into my head for no particular reason.
The tune is from the Broadway musical "Avenue Q" and watching a video of that tune led me into a rabbit hole...

I'm a huge Star Wars fan but I don't have $225,000 in my bank account and, even if I did, I cannot fathom the idea I would pay $225,000 for a toy. Thus, the person who bought the Rare Star Wars Boba Fett Toy [for] $225,000 USD is nuts.
Just Quit Trying! - The answer to your marriage!
In a movie or in a TV show, Jim said to Charlie that Jim doesn't trust anyone who acts as though they have it "all figured out."
At this precise moment, I can't recall what movie or TV show Jim said that to Charlie - and I doubt that the two characters were named Jim and Charlie - I just needed a clever way to name two characters so that I could quote a movie or TV show that I can't recall the name of.
I could post it to Facebook to see if anyone else has seen whatever movie or TV show I'm thinking of... Hmmm.
Anyways, I mention this movie or TV show because when I read the subject of the email I received (and have pasted below), I immediately thought about those two characters because proclaiming to have "the answer to your marriage" is silly. The authors of the email below do not know every couple to whom they sent the email so to presume to have the answer is, well, off-putting and egotistical.
That was my initial impression anyways when I read the subject. It did prompt me to read the entire email so I grant the authors with an A for writing a compelling subject for their email.

That may sound like a contradiction or maybe an error in the message. But it isn’t. Couples spend years “Trying” often with little or no success. So many couples are worn out from the effort to create a passionate, dynamic and loving marriage – and give up because they don’t get anywhere.
So we say, QUIT TRYING.
Or better yet, STOP TRYING THE SAME OLD THINGS THAT GET YOU NOWHERE.
When John approached us, he had all but given up. He was now in a sexless marriage, with little open communication or affection.
As a married couple, both Angela and John had given their marriage a lot of attention. But over the past 5 years, of an 11-year relationship, they were exhausted and now believed they could never have more.
The pain and hurt they experienced from each failed attempt, left them hopeless.
Have you felt that way – that a great marriage with love, passionate sex and affection, was unattainable?

OO in DM TODAY!!!!
Editor's Note: One of the joys of scheduling a post for publication is that it can be forgotten and what gets posted should have been edited. Sadly, no, the Ozzy Osbourne concert in Des Moines, IA, that was scheduled for tonight, has been postponed. Or canceled. Not entirely sure.
On April 4, 2019, which feels like ages ago, mainly because it was 453 days (1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks, 5 days) ago, I read on Loudwire.com the sad news that Ozzy Osbourne Suffers Serious Injury, All 2019 Tour Dates Postponed.
I remember 4/4/2019. When Karen and I were eating brat patties with mashed potatoes while watching "The Big Bang Theory," I told Karen that the Ozzy Osbourne concert had been postponed to June 30, 2020.
She asked, "What if we're busy that night?"
I said, "Does it involve boobs?"
She said, "No."
I quipped, "I'm going to see Ozzy Osbourne."
Not more than 1 hour later, my friend Jason Lester called me. He was the friend who originally asked me if I wanted to go with him to see Ozzy in concert.
He was quick and direct: are you still in for Ozzy for the postponed date, he asked.
You know my answer.
Thus, tonight in Des Moines, IA, I am going to see Megadeath open for Ozzy Osbourne at the Wells Fargo Arena. I cannot wait!

A Bone to Pick - A Promise to Break

You Need to Refocus
This is the text of a message I sent to my nephew who recently started playing drums. After I sent the message, I realized that it is also a message to myself except that instead of references to Motley Crue and Tommy Lee, I would have wrote about Metallica and Lars Ulrich
If you are serious about playing drums, it's not just about playing Crue tunes. You can only get so far with bashing the drums. If you want to truly be able to play the way Tommy Lee plays, you must spend time on your technique and the way you actually hit the drum.
This is not fun and it feels boring. You will get tired of playing patterns that you don't understand in relation to Motley Crue or anything that you like to listen to.
I can tell you this.
If you put your mind to learning how to hit the drums the right way, your potential is the sky.
I just came across this video. It's the kind of technique that I am talking about. It's not exciting but... I hope that you will watch it several times until the concepts are drilled into your mind. Also, you will not see an improvement in your drumming skills tomorrow by watching the video today. It will be several months until you are playing drums and BOOM! what was hard to do is easier to do.
It looks like there's many videos by this guy. I would watch it several times before going on to the next video.
Also, reduce the speed of the video so that it is a slower tempo - I did that when I was first trying to play with him. I think he assumes that the viewer is able to keep up with him!

Also Friday, the UI announced plans to build a $4 million “state-of-the-art” women’s soccer operations facility. The new building, pending Board of Regents approval, would be built on the west-side athletics complex and be ready for the fall 2021 season.
The proposed facility would include locker rooms and offices that overlook the soccer field and is being financed by private donations. The Iowa women’s soccer program tied a school record with 15 wins last season under coach Dave Dilanni.
