The world lost one of the best teachers *ever*
when Ms. McCarty passed away on 7/17/13. I read her obituary last night
in the Sunday CR Gazette.
If you were lucky enough to have her for a teacher at Pierce Elementary in Cedar Rapids, your
heart may be a little more sad now. I remember her wit. I remember
seeing her at the Spring House Restaurant on Center Point Road. I
remember her jars of animals preserved in jars on the shelves in her
classroom (personally, I liked the pig). She was a dear lady.
