I came across this position posting at a company in Washington DC. There's no way in hell I'm going to even apply, but I am including here because of the second bullet in the "Nice to Haves" section.

The Senior Technical Writer produces accurate, efficient, and crystal-clear documentation for end users and developers on the AppNexus platform. Deliverables may include feature and process overviews, functional how-tos, use case-driven tutorials, conceptual deep-dives, screen text, and error messages for our Console UI, and reference and best practice documentation for our APIs and mobile SDK.

As a Senior Technical Writer, you'll be part of our Marketing department, and will work closely with our Software Engineering and Product Management teams to produce accurate documentation for end users and developers building on the AppNexus platform.

The kinds of documentation you'll be expected to write include:
*Feature and process overviews
*How-tos
*Tutorials
*Conceptual deep-dives
*Screen text and error messages for our Console UI
*Developer docs for our web APIs and mobile SDK

Responsibilities:
*Drive complex and strategically important documentation projects for end-user (UI) and developer (API/SDK) audiences
*Collaborate across Product, Engineering, User Experience, and Services teams to gather information and define requirements
*Identify documentation gaps and opportunities
*Introduce innovative documentation techniques
*Enhance our style guides and documentation processes
*Coach other writers on documentation best practices and quality
*Coordinate and lead cross-functional projects
*Compose user interface texts and error messages for better product usability
*Test documentation against the product to ensure accuracy

Requirements:
*Excellent writing skills: clarity, accuracy, and efficiency
*Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
*Ability to learn complex, technical products
*Experience documenting for both end-user (UI) and developer (API/SDK) audiences
*Familiar with current documentation best practices such as structured authoring, single-sourcing, and minimalism
*Experience designing and maintaining contextual help systems
*Fluency with wiki-, XML-, and plaintext-based authoring tools (for example, Confluence, DITA, Jekyll)
*Ability to design and improve large information structures
*Informed perspective on documentation challenges and processes in an Agile development environment
*Skilled at balancing multiple projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
*Strong cross-functional coordination skills
*Comfort with UNIX command-line tools such as curl
*HTML and CSS competency
*Work productively with a geographically distributed teamFamiliarity with online advertising and/or the advertising technology industry

Nice to haves:
*Ability to read code and create code samples in JavaScript, Java, or another language
*Computer Science background or software development experience
*Be fun. Be nice. Be a little weird.
