Look Forward

The 2016-2017 Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball squad ended their season with a trip to the NIT Tournament. As a flashback, the 2013 team did well, reaching the championship game, before being blown out - read about it here.

As of today, Monday, 3/13/2017, the only news is that the team plays on Wednesday, 3/15/2017, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena as the #1 seed, playing North Dakota. See the Editor's Note section at the bottom for details as to how that game went and if they advanced beyond that game or if it was their last.

Using the date on which the 2016-2017 Big Ten Conference schedule for men's basketball was released - Big Ten Unveils 2016-17 Men’s Basketball Conference Schedule - the 2017-2018 schedule should be released soon, if it hasn't been already.

The big news for the 2017-2018 team is the talent pool getting deeper. As of 3/13/2017, it is expected Iowa City West player Connor McCaffery will be on the 2017-2018 team. Editor's Note: In the game on on Wednesday, 3/15/2017, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena as the #1 seed, playing North Dakota, the team won. In the game on Sunday, 3/19/2017, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena as the #1 seed, playing TCU, the team lost in overtime. Alex & I went to the game. Cordell Pemsl missed a final shot in overtime to end the season.
