NE Looks for a New HC

Oh, poor Mike Riley! While it may seem a reason to be tearful for him - and as someone who has dealt with losing a job I do have sympathy for him but only because he was fired. That's the only reason because, as detailed in this article - After Iowa blowout, Nebraska fires head coach Mike Riley - Mike Riley is not going to need to find a job for a very long time. Why? He had a contract buyout clause. How much?

$6,600,000

  • If he doesn't get a coaching job in the next 10 years - from 11/24/2017 until 11/24/2027, the guy is going to make $660000 each year for doing NOTHING!!
  • If he doesn't get a coaching job in the next 20 years - from 11/24/2017 until 11/24/2037, the guy is going to make $330000 each year for doing NOTHING!!
  • If he doesn't get a coaching job in the next 30 years - from 11/24/2047 until 11/24/2047, the guy is going to make $220000 each year for doing NOTHING!!
  • If he doesn't get a coaching job in the next 10 years - from 11/24/2017 until 11/24/2057, the guy is going to make $165000 each year for doing NOTHING!!
On 11/24/2057, I will be 87 years, 11 months, 2 weeks, 6 days or 32132 days on this planet. Will anyone even remember Mike Riley coached at Nebraska when this payout ends?!?

I need to cease being a technical writer, get hired as a head football coach at Nebraska, have a terrible record, and earn easy money for the rest of my life.

Editor's Note: The "Nebraska Football Curses" is applied because it seems to be a curse to be the Nebraska football coach and adding a label for Nebraska football would be unnecessary clutter.
