TNA is Still Around?!?

Apparently, TNA (Total Nonstop Action) still exists. How do I know? Did I see an episode on TV? Nope. Apparently, they had a PPV last night and I read the results:

Standard announce team of Jeremy Borash and Josh Mathews
  • Trevor Lee def. Sonjay Dutt, Garza Jr., Petey Williams, Matt Sydal, & Dezmond Xavier to retain the X Division championship. It was a lucha libre rules match where there were two legal men but if someone went out of the ring, anyone else could take his place. At the end of the match, Petey Williams hit the Canadian Destroyer on Dezmond Xavier to the delight of the Canadian crowd (who LOVED him) but Trevor Lee ran in, tossed Petey out of the ring, and got the pinfall.
  • Taiji Ischimori def. Tyson Dux with a 450 splash. While they fought, Lauren Van Ness made her way through the crowd cheering for... someone.
  • Alberto El Patron comes to the ring. The announcers play it up like he wasn’t planning to come out. Patron says that since he came here, everyone in the back talked him up to his face. And after he did all he did for this company, all the cowards in the back screwed him because they believed all the lies instead of sticking the facts, which showed he didn’t do anything. They suspended him, stopped paying him, and stripped him of the title. He says that Eli Drake is a paper champion and to be the real champion, he has to beat him. He goes on to say the place is filled with losers and backstabbers. When he says that looks at JB. He starts berating Borash, asking where he was 3 months ago. JB reluctantly apologizes and Alberto extends his hand and stares him down as he shakes it. Alberto says he came to Canada to make a statement, and he’s going to make it with JB! But he ends up backing of and says tonight will be amazing
  • Abyss def Grado in a Monster’s Ball match for the rights to Grado’s visa, meaning Grado has to be deported. This match was a bit of a cluster. Laurel Van Ness came from the crowd to attack Grado (and deservedly so) when the lights went out and Rosemary appeared and misted her. It looked like Rosemary and Abyss were going to reconcile and the Monster held Grado for a misting, but the Scot moved out of the way. Despite that, Abyss hit a Black Hole Slam to Grado onto barbed wire for the win.
  • Eddie Edwards, James Storm, & EC3 def. El Hijo de Fantasma, Pagano, & Texano when James Storm delivers a Last Call Super Kick to Pagano. Post match, EC3 and Storm share a beer.
  • oVe def. LAX in a 5150 Street Fight to retain the Impact tag team championships when Sami Callihan debuted and delivered a piledriver to Ortiz through the table.
  • Gail Kim def. Allie & Sienna to win the Knockouts championship on her last night in Impact. She won with an Eat Defeat off the second rope to Sienna.
  • Jimmy Jacobs shows up and comes to commentary. JB asks what he’s doing here since he doesn’t work here, to which Jacobs says “that’s what you think.”
  • King Mo & Lashley def. Moose & Stephan Bonnar in Six Sides of Steel. Towards the end of the match, Dan Lambert locked Moose out of the cage, leaving all of Top Team in the ring. Bonnar did his best to fight everyone off as Moose climbs to the top and dives onto Top Team. However, the numbers are too much and Lashley hits a spear on Moose when Moose is distracted by Lambert.
  • Eli Drake def. Johnny Impact to retain the Impact world championship. Johnny had the match one when Alberto El Patron interfered and attacked both men when the ref was down. Then he draped Drake over Johnny and revived the ref to count Eli the victor.

I don't recognize very many of the wrestlers. Bobby Lashley, James Storm, Abyss... but the rest? Not really 'name recognition' superstars, in my head.
