By the way, it was not really our original plan to be in Cedar Falls last night. We had originally thought we would be driving up this morning, after Alex was done with basketball practice at 10. The original plan was that Mark would be home from the hospital and ready for some euchre, but all that had flown out the window when we drove up Thursday night.
And that's what you do for family. You go when you are needed and you sit in a hospital waiting room and you buy supper for your blonde sister-in-law and Diet Dr. Pepper for your mother-in-law - you do what you can to help because you know that it is tough and it sucks and you can't take the burden of feeling like dog meat away through anything within your possession. That's just what life is like. And it sucks sometimes, but that's what happens.
