Once upon a time, someone said, "We should have national standards for education." Democrats and Republicans got together and said, "Here, this is what we think should be standards." Now, all of a sudden, Common Core has become a politically hot issue. Republicans are stepping over each other to withdraw support.
Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin is the latest to back away from this idea of a national standard in education.
