CM Punk built up a following in the WWE, going from a hated heel to an iconic major player. After a PPV, he "quit" the WWE. Recently his contract ran out and despite fans cheering for his return, he has not returned and, per his recent comments, and with his profile being moved to the WWE alumni page, it would seem he is done.
That said, this is professional wrestling. Anything can and does happen within this twisted and crazy pseudo-world.
