My Thoughts

Wouldn't you want to improve the end-user experience through product design changes BEFORE a product is released to your customers?!? I'm sure there is a reason for phrasing it as it was phrased.

After a product is released, technical writers also work with product managers, QA staff and Application Consultants to improve the end-user experience through product design changes.

I do like these words as it shows they are not trying to do all the things mentioned in the full ad with Microsoft Word:

  • Writing, editing, formatting, and maintaining client facing user documentation utilizing technical publication tools, e.g., Flare, Adobe Acrobat Professional, ePublisher, WebWorks which includes the use of photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding
  • Increasingly, technical information is being delivered online. As a result, the Technical Writer/Instructional Designer will use the interactive technologies of the Web to blend text, graphics, multidimensional images, sound, and video.

Standard disclaimer applies. No, I'm not searching for a job. I am just in the habit of seeing what positions are out in the wild as a means to make my current situation that much brighter!
