Mike Varney began collecting recordings prior to the beginning of his career in 1980. His current collection includes over 40,000 LPs and CDs, extensively covering the hard rock, metal, progressive rock, blues-rock and jazz-fusion genres and subgenres.
There it is - 40,000 is my threshold for when I will cease collecting music. If all of Varney's music was on a CD and if all of those CDs (40,000) were on a spindle that holds 100 CDs each, Varney would have 400 spindles. In contrast, I have ~38 spindles of 100 each.
