The Key to 35 Years Together

From James Hetfield says Metallica makes music they want to hear

....Hetfield said the band plays music it wants to hear.
"That's No. 1," Hetfield said. "If the fans enjoy it, that's up to them. We can't please everyone. We do our best, and hopefully the people show up and understand the truth and honesty to us and our craft."
This time, Metallica decided to make its album close to the members' homes near San Francisco.
"We all live in northern California with all of our families, and take our domestic responsibilities very seriously," drummer Lars Ulrich said. "So we decided that we wanted to make this record at home."

It's interesting Ulrich says, "We all live in northern California" in light of the information I posted yesterday about how Papa Het has Left the Bay. It indicates that the interview happened recently, as in 2016, but after Hetfield moved. It makes me wonder what the discussion with the other three members about moving was like and if Ulrich, Kirk, and Robert were supportive of Hetfield moving to CO. Interesting to think about.
