About the Big G Walkout

I am snooty / snarky / bitchy. I read this article - Google walkout marks new direction for #MeToo, #TimesUp - which included the following blurb.

To me, these G employees are stupid (told you I was in a mood). If I were a supervisor / manager and my staff decided to walk out of work, I would tell them to not bother to come back. G isn't paying the employees to protest business decisions that have already been made about to whom services and products are promised. G is paying the employees to do work because their skills have a value and that value allows services and products to be created and to be sold to consumers. To me, if a G employee doesn't want to do the task to which they were assigned, they do not need to have a job at G. If the G employee feels so strongly about the services and products that G is selling to pay the G employee their paycheck, then they should go find another job at another company.

I can hear the voices in my head telling me, "That's dumb - they have a family to support and bills to pay - they need to work" and to those voices, I reply, "Really? Why aren't the G employees working and providing their skills so G can create services and products that can be sold to consumers to have the funds to pay the G employee their paycheck if that's true?"

I fully realize I'm likely in the minority with my opinion about their actions and that is based upon seeing this headline:

To me, Google (the company) should be making a single demand: GO BACK TO YOUR JOB THAT YOU ARE BEING PAID TO DO and if that's objectionable, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO WORK SOMEPLACE ELSE.
