The Healing has Begun

There's more to Anakin than you might think. The “Star Wars” prequels aren’t especially well regarded, but the healing has begun. The success of “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” appears to have …

More Rogue One Joy

Now that I've seen the latest Star Wars movie, I am going to celebrate its release with additional information. Don't click any of these links if you don't want to know details that would help you enjoy the movie that much more.
And then there's this: It’s Time To Reboot Star Wars

Those Noises You Hear were Joy

Major events caused joy for me yesterday.
  1. The process of copying all of the files off of the MyCloud drive completed. I reset the MyCloud drive and am now now copying files back to it. It was 255 days ago when I had my most recent EHD crash so I've been working on this project for that number of days. It feels really good to be making progress.
  2. Megan and I went to see "Star Wars: Rogue One" yesterday. We both really liked it. I thought it was a good story and I didn't care about the fact that I knew how the movie would end. I am walking a tightrope of revealing spoilers but I think I can safely say that when Episode IV begins, you know where a certain character is located. This movie ends at that same location and you see one of the characters. However, there are two characters that were also there that we briefly see in another setting. I think one small tweak I would make would be to show that all three characters are where they were when Episode IV begins.
  3. The Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team demolished the UNI Panthers men's basketball team. I will cheer for UNI when they play anyone but Iowa in the same way I will cheer for ISU when they play anyone but Iowa. The reason why their victory was joyous is it was the second game in a row when the team played defense (according to the game summaries) which will be crucial when the Big Ten season begins in early January. I heard one TV analyst state that the Big Ten is going to be competitive from top to bottom.

Rogue One Reactions

I came across four links related to Star Wars as I was looking for information about  the "Rogue One" movie that opened today. And I'm going to start with the fourth link I came across because it was published in January 2016 and has no information about the new movie.

Instead, it is a lengthy dissertation about the franchise. You can read that dissertation by using this link if you want to read it. What the Seven “Star Wars” Films Reveal About George Lucas is the type of essay I enjoy. Actually, any essay about the franchise that analyzes the characters in the franchise is enjoyable. Some people like Harry Potter; others are into Lord of the Rings; others are into some other franchise I am not thinking of. It doesn't matter, really. Any essay that offers critical analysis of the franchise is great but if it's about Star Wars, I like it that much more. Hell, even the theory about why Jar Jar Binks is an Imperial spy captured my attention. That's why I am sharing the link above by Richard Brody. It was posted on 1/6/2016. If you like his writing style, good for you because he also wrote the third link below but don't go there until you see the gigantic

Warning: If you are not wanting to know anything about it, do not click any of the links below.

The SW R One Reviews are Trickling in

In just a few days, Rogue One will be released. Twitter posts from people that saw it say it is the best Star Wars ever. Some speculated that it is better than "The Empire Strikes Back," which seems to always be "The Popular Opinion Choice for Best Star Wars movie." Here's a review of it - avoid if you don't want spoilers!

Here are the showings on Sunday:

In 2D
7:00 am | 8:15 | 10:00 | 11:15 | 1:00 pm | 2:15 | 4:00 | 5:15 | 7:00 | 8:15 | 10:00 | 11:15

In 3D:
7:30 am | 9:00 | 10:30 | 12:00 pm | 1:30 | 3:00 | 4:30 | 6:00 | 7:30 | 9:00 | 10:30

I pitched the idea of going to see the new Star Wars movie on Sunday at 7 AM, but Megan, my movie daughter, wasn't interested. She is also not interested in seeing it in 3D - she says 3D movies give her a headache. Now, the plan is to go on Sunday afternoon after the 2:15 showing. The only other thing I have on Sunday's schedule is to go see a friend's band  play at the Mill on Sunday from 4:45 - 6 (or so). Maybe we attend the 7:30 show. I don't know what she has going on on Monday.

Going Itsane

There's a conspiracy that is causing this rigged Internet whereby auto-correct makes "its" into "it's" when it should be "its" and changes "it's" into "its" when it should be "it's" - that's the only explanation I can embrace. Even in the world of writing about Star Wars, there is the conspiracy!

"So just how much Yavin can we handle in Rogue One? Its got to be close enough for Jyn and her group of spies to launch their mission on Scarif, the Empire’s own stronghold where the Death Star is assembled."

Is NOTHING sacred in this world?!?!

So Tired of It's and Its Being Misused

From http://screenrant.com/rogue-one-star-wars-banners-rebels-stormtroopers/:

Most of the film’s posters so far have shown this same battle on Scarif, where its not only possible but highly likely that some of our heroes will die for the greater good.

What is possessed?!?

Most of the film’s posters so far have shown this same battle on Scarif, where it is not only possible but highly likely that some of our heroes will die for the greater good.

And, from https://forums.adobe.com/message/9114868#9114868

Since this issue was critical and an immediate fix was required, we communicated it's availability through update manager.

It's enough to drive a writer insane!

Giddy with Joy

The New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer Is Gritty As Hell http://flip.it/wGqF5

And, already, there's reactions to it:

And - SPOILER ALERT - I missed this article in June that possibly reveals the link between "Rogue One" and "A New Hope." If it's true, my mind is really blown. Once again - SPOILER ALERT so don't click if you don't want to know but I did so I read the article and am putting in this blog post for future reference - here's the link to the article.

152 days Away

Rogue One is going to tell the story of the events between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. It is being released on December 16, 2016. How cool is this video below and the poster for the movie that you can see here.
