Cedar Rapids Kennedy the victim in a boys' state basketball tournament stunner - The Gazette

Well, that was disappointing.

As a 1988 graduate of Cedar Rapids Kennedy, I had been happy that this year's boys' basketball team was undefeated and marching into the State Basketball Tournament. When I was a senior, the boys' basketball team made its way to the State Basketball Tournament Championship game, only to be defeated by Fort Dodge, which featured future Iowa Hawkeye Wade Lookingbill. Thus, I was hoping for this team to win a  State Championship . .  but that didn't happen: Cedar Rapids Kennedy the victim in a boys' state basketball tournament stunner | The Gazette

I don't know how many of the players on this team are seniors. Hopefully, there is enough outstanding players that will take the court as the 2023-2024 boys' basketball team!

Welcome to the Haystack

Lyz Lenz was a columnist who wrote opinion articles for the Cedar Rapids Gazette newspaper. Until she was fired... I disagreed with her political slant - extreme Liberal is how I would label her. When I read a Liberal column - for example, by Leonard Pitts Jr. - I will use Scotch tape to keep it in my 10 Year Journal project because good writing is good writing. Lenz? I put used Scotch tape to keep her articles in my 10 Year Journal project because reading bad writing is a reminder to me what NOT to do. This is her blog: https://lyz.substack.com. I poked around enough to find some fairly decent writing. Just to warn you - the website is a haystack.
