Improve my Drumming in Only 90 Minutes for 87 Bucks

https://www.dimitrifantinidrums.com/handspeedmasterclass?cid=933a07b8-1f2d-450d-8634-62c7920eaae3 - The Real Reason Your Hand Speed Hits a Wall (And How to Smash Through It)

From the website:

Struggling to break through your speed barriers?

You practice your rudiments religiously. You've tried every speed-building exercise on YouTube. But when it comes time to play fast, your hands cramp up, your technique falls apart, and you hit a wall.

Sound familiar?

Trying to play fast without proper technique is like flooring the gas pedal with your brakes on. You're working twice as hard to go half as fast, and something's going to break.

But your drumming doesn't have to be this way.

Discover how to unlock lightning-fast hand speed that feels effortless:

  • Break through speed plateaus that have held you back for months (or years)
  • Learn why "practicing faster" is actually slowing you down
  • Master the technique secrets that separate sloppy slow-pokes from speed demons
  • Build speed that feels controlled, clean, and completely natural
  • Transform your hands into precision speed machines on autopilot

Here's the truth most drummers never learn:

The fastest drummers in the world aren't just naturally gifted – they understand the Hand Speed Formula that transforms all those rudiments into blazing fast fills.

After working with hundreds of drummers, I've cracked the code on what separates drummers who struggle to play fast from those who make lightning speed look effortless.

I've distilled it all into a proven system that:

  • Programs lightning-fast speed directly into your muscle memory
  • Eliminates the tension that kills your speed
  • Builds speed that actually improves your technique
  • Creates the fluid, effortless feel you hear in your favorite drummers

Rocking Tunes at Whiskey Jo's on 7-5-2023

When I heard "Rock This Town", it took me back to the days of hearing the Stray Cats for the first time. I was always mystified why their drummer played drums standing up - could he not afford a drum throne? - and thinking he was the only drummer who ever could and would ever play drums standing up. Obviously, this was in the early 1980s when this tune was released and MTV helped me form inaccurate opinions about drumming and drummers in those early days. While The Stray Cats introduced me to the rockabilly genre, I never really invested a lot of time into exploring it.

When I heard "Fortunate Son", it took me back to the Spring of 1992 when I was playing drums in a band I've mentioned in the past - Old Stew - and how this tune was sometimes our first song of the night. Playing at Bonehead's on Center Point Road in Cedar Rapids was probably not as glorious as my mind likes to think it was, but that's okay, right?

The building Bonehead's was in had been Dale's Fruit Market, which I remember the huge walk-in cooler with the automatic doors, before it was transformed into a bar - I don't recall the name of the first bar that opened in the building - before it eventually became Bonehead's, before that closed and was replaced by a Pioneer Food Store. Next to Bonehead's was a bar called "King Tut's Lounge" and it was the first place I heard a band play the Roy Orbison / Van Halen tune "Pretty Woman", though the name of the band is long gone from my memory. Sorry for the side step into the history of that building on Center Point Road in Cedar Rapids, but it felt relevant.

Quick Update from 24 Days Ago

Back on July 26, 2022, I posted about My Ideal Drums and I wanted to provide an update. Those drums are for sale, I have a price quote from the seller that is different than the advertised price, and I have still not purchased those drums.

I have no current prospects for auditioning to play drums in my Ideal Band. If I'm being honest, I'm quite discouraged about the situation.

Could I Commit for 30 Days to Improve my Drumming?

$97, 15 minutes a day, for 30 days to improve my drumming. The obvious question is, "Could I commit for 30 Days to improve my drumming?" It's September 5th to October 5th.

I'll set a reminder to return to this post on Thursday, September 1st. As of this moment, it sounds interesting and, frankly, it may be the right time to do this. As of today, Tuesday, August 16, 2022, R of RP is in CO and his return date to Iowa is not set. During the 30 days between September 5th and October 5th, I will play drums at Saint Thomas More 2 out of 4 weekends (September 17 and 24) - the weekend of September 10th, I will be in Elkader and the weekend of October 1st, I will be in northern Iowa at a wedding.

I'm not going to speculate further - sign up through the website - https://www.drumeo.com/drumshop/30-day-drummer/ - or don't. Decide.

Jharis Yokley Drum Solo

What I like about this drummer is the way he has two hihats on his left side and his toms further towards his right. I feel like most drummers - including me - would not set up their drums to have the two hihats set up the way Jharis does. Though I like the idea, I don't envision it being the right layout for my drumming.

Quick Update from 68 Days Ago

Back on May 19, 2022, I posted about My Ideal Drums and I wanted to provide an update. Those drums are for sale, I have a price quoted from the seller that is different than the advertised price, and I have still not purchased those drums.

Also, I thought I was going to audition to play drums in a local band but I have found out I am not going to be auditioning for that local band. I have no other current prospects for auditioning to play drums in my Ideal Band. If I'm being honest, I'm quite discouraged about the situation.

My Ideal Drums

Warning: This is a longer than normal post

This is my destiny drums.

I have a Google alert set up so that when "Ludwig Vistalite clear" is a match on "craigslist.org", I get an email. For years, I have patiently waited for my Ideal Drums to be located through this Google alert and while there have been matches in the past, they have all, for one reason or another, not been matches I have drooled over as much as the match that arrived in my Inbox on May 18, 2022 at 10:43 PM (last night after I had gone to bed).

1970’s Ludwig Vistalite 5-Piece Drumset - $1,800 (Iowa City)

$1,800 OBO - Feel free to make me an offer I can’t refuse!

This is a stunning, crack-free 1970’s Ludwig clear Vistalite “Big Beat” 5-piece drumset w/ matching snare drum. All shells are in great condition, no cracks, no rust on chrome, very slight wear - tape residue on bass drum.

But it's not going to be easy to justify spending $1,800 (or maybe a little under that) when I don't have any gigs lined up for my Ideal Band which would fund such a purchase.

I sent this message to the seller:

This is my Ideal drumset. I have a 24" bass, 13" mounted tom, and 2 x 16" floor toms. This will date me - my parents bought my set when I was in 8th grade, back in 1984 and it's been the only drumset I have ever owned!

I am monitoring the ad for sure. Son gets married next month and we're getting the bar bill so I need it to be less than $1000 before I can present it to my wife... right now, my set is stacked up under my basement steps because I have been playing my son's Yamaha DTX500 electronic set for the past few years.

Hope you sell it, even if it's not to me...
