What *is* Nu Metal?!?

Personally, I don't consider Incubus or Kid Rock "nu metal", but okay, whatever.

I've seen these "book your concert with a budget" graphics before for other genres. What irks me with 99.9% of these "book your concert with a budget" graphics is that there is never enough in the budget to get one from each row. You would need a budget of [10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 =] $150 to do so.

As for my ideal concert?
$10 - Sevendust
$20 - Papa Roach
$30 - Incubus
$40 - Linkin Park (but only if Chester Bennington sang, otherwise, none)
$50 - Slipknot (but only because I saw Korn in 2017 at Chicago Open Air)

Out of those 15 bands, I've seen 4 - Korn, Papa Roach, P.O.D, and Sevendust, but if I factor in the number of times I've seen Papa Roach (Memphis, Moline, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines so 4 times), and the number of times I've seen Sevendust (Cedar Rapids x 2, a couple of minutes in Waterloo when they were an unannounced / unadvertised opener for Five Finger Death Punch), I get pushed up to 10. <grin>

Instead of COA 2018, RockFest?!?

Chicago Open Air is not going to exist in July 2018. Instead, I'm contemplating Rock Fest in Cadott, WI.
Friday July 12
Sunday July 13
 Saturday July 14

Like a Cult

Karen described our morning commute as like being in a cult because I have the radio tuned to Rock 108. This AM, Disturbed's new tune "The Vengeful One" came on. Karen lasted through the first verse, the chorus, & the second verse, but when the song reached the interlude after the second verse, she had had enough. She changed the station to Life 101.9, the Christian station, but only stayed there for a few moments because she doesn't like the female DJ. She changed the station (again) to 94.1 KRNA. I have no idea what was going on, at that precise moment, because I could only hear people talking over each other. I turned the radio off.

What's kind of funny is that yesterday, Karen started humming the melody of Seether's "Same Damn Life."

She was quick to point out that just because she recognized the melody is not an admission of actually liking the song.

Now Spinning

I've fallen into a bit of a rut lately. I've been spinning a lot of Five Finger Death Punch, a lot of Lamb of God, and even more Death Magnetic. If I were to make a life CD, these would be my current favorite songs.

1. Demons - Bayside
2. No One Understands - Bayside
3. Your New Twin Sized Bed - Death Cab for Cutie
4. You Can Do Better Than Me - Death Cab for Cutie
5. All Summer Long - Kid Rock
6. So Hott - Kid Rock
7. Indestructible - Disturbed
8. Inside the Fire - Disturbed
9. The Bleeding - Five Finger Death Punch
10. It's Never Enough - Five Finger Death Punch
11. Stranger than Fiction - Five Finger Death Punch
12. The Bleeding (acoustic) - Five Finger Death Punch
13. Wasted Years - Iron Maiden
14. Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
15. The Judas Kiss - Metallica
16. My Apocalypse - Metallica
17. Grace - Lamb of God
18. Set to Fail - Lamb of God
