Cody Rhodes grants Kevin Owens a match at WWE Bash in Berlin: SmackDown highlights, Aug. 9, 2024

The video sets up the article below.  Frankly speaking, I am just not a fan of the friend v friend match,  especially when it's Rhodes and Owens.  I understand why it makes sense to go there but unless KO is going to turn heel,  there's no progression in the storytelling - all it does is make the good guys distrust each other when they are already not in a named alliance.

And here's the article on the match:

Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens vs Judgment Day | WWE Raw Highlights 8/21/23

Matches like this one are not new. The three current "good guys" take on the "bad guys" stable which, in this case, is called "Judgment Day" with Finn Balor and others as members. I have not watched Monday Night Raw as it was being aired on USA Network in a very long time - perhaps not once in the last 3 years. It's kind of ironic. I used to wonder what it would be like to go downstairs every Monday night from 7-10 and be able to watch 3 hours of pro wrestling without being pulled away from Monday Night Raw by kids. I used to think that when Karen and I were living in our empty nest, I would have all the free time in the world. My reality? Nope!

Ironic

Including this post, I have 580 posts with the "Pro Wrestling" tag and 547 posts with the "WWE" tag on this blog. When I saw that WWE is coming to Moline in March, I was initially thinking YES! YES! YES! until I remembered Daniel Bryan left the WWE and is now with AEW. Then I saw that Seth Rollins is on the card and I thought I *have* to go see him live at least once in Moline. In "real life," Seth Rollins names Davenport (which is across the Mississippi River from Moline and, essentially, the same city) as his hometown so I'd imagine it would be a special show for him.

However, Matthew asked me to go to Des Moines on the same day to see Steve Vai in concert. I would like to see Steve Vai in concert.

It is situations like this when I wish I could split myself into two distinct persons so I could see both WWE and Steve Vai.
