Editor's Note: The Chicago Bears lost on Sunday, January 6, 2019. In the final seconds of the game, the field goal unit came out to kick. The Philadelphia Eagles called a timeout, the ball was snapped, and the kicker put the ball between the uprights, but since a timeout had been called, it did not count. After the timeout, the field goal unit came out to kick, the ball was snapped, and the kicker put the ball up into the air, it sailed through the air like a trapeze artist, hit the left upright, dropped down, hit the cross beam and sailed backwards, landing in the end zone. The Chicago Bears ended their season. Feelings of sadness for the field goal kicker are expected and encouraged.

No, the Patriots did not defeat the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl last night. In fact, the Patriots were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles, 41-33. The Monday Morning Quarterbacks have their throwing arms primed for an off-season of speculation: Is Super Bowl LII Loss the End of Patriots and Tom Brady's Dynasty? by Sean Tomlinson February 5, 2018. The following happened during the game last night:
"Batista" refers to "Dave Batista" who is a former WWE / professional wrestler. He has left the WWE to be in movies, the most recent being Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War that is being released in May 2018.

Updates on TV
This is the Super Bowl commercial that will stick out in my mind. I think what makes it so good is that a stain on a shirt is a real issue for people and it showcases that Tide (the pitched product) can solve the issue. I'm going to associate "Tide" with "remove stain on shirt" for the foreseeable future.
And, after the Super Bowl, I watched the first episode of "24:Legacy." I honestly cannot say I remember a specific episode of "24" (the original series). Kind of like "Prison Break" (which is also making a return to TV soon), "Alias," and "Lost," all the episodes melt together into a favorable impression.
It's not that way for some TV series, though.
I remember very specific details about "M*A*S*H*" and "Cheers" and "Breaking Bad."
All said and done, I recorded the second episode (Monday, 2/6) on the DVR last night so I hope I can watch it tonight. I had a long day yesterday and didn't even stay up for the Monday Night Raw main event of Roman Reigns v. Samoa Joe, even though I like Samoa Joe as a pro wrestling talent.

No Cord on the Guitar?
It started with Living Colour's Vernon Reid noticing that the guitar being used by the Red Hot Chilli Pepper's guitarist wasn't plugged into anything [http://loudwire.com/living-colour-guitarist-vernon-reid-red-hot-chili-peppers-super-bowl-performance/] and then became something the Peppers' Flea had to address as message boards and Twitter lit up with questions.
If I was asked to play drums on a stage in front of Super Bowl crowd, damn right I would. I don't blame the RHCP for their choice to do the halftime show whatsoever!

Well now, that'll sting...
Super Bowl 48 is in the books and I'm wondering what is going through the mind of Peyton Manning.
After the first play of the game, which resulted in a safety and a 2-0 deficit, Denver looked frazzled. I don't know how they go through the off season without having that miscue (and all the ones that followed) play over and over in your mind. It would drive me to no end.
And yet, as I write that, I think back to how my swim season ended my junior year of high school. I hyperventaliated after my race and dropped no time from my race the week before. It made my season seem like a total disappointment, like all the hard work I had put in wasn't worth it, wasn't enough, and my mind was furious. I was beside myself with disappointment.
And I remember I felt like that terrible feeling would motivate me through the spring and then through summer and fall until it was time to begin my final swim season.
It didn't happen.
Eventually, I forgot how terrible I felt that day and I forgot to use that feeling to motivate me. My final swim season did not transform into success.

Super Bowl Today!
The Super Bowl is today. Millions will watch the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks play in New Jersey. My hope is that it is a good game. If pressed, I hope the Denver Broncos win. From every thing I've read about the Broncos' QB, Peyton Manning, I think he seems like a level-headed type of person. I know he has had issues with his body and, after the season, is going to be evaluated by doctors as to whether he should retire for the sake of his quality of life. For that reason, I hope Denver wins and I hope that if it is Manning's last game in the NFL, that it is an outstanding performance where he breaks some legendary statistic. On another note, I saw a sneak preview of a BMW ad that will be shown during the Super Bowl. If all the commercials are as funny as that one, I will be happy. I also know the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are going to play at halftime with some one word named rapper dude. I am happy that "rock" is returning to halftime and I just hope that it continues to do so. I still think Metallica at halftime would make the best halftime show ever.
