People's Court Closes

There was a notice on Facebook that People's Court in Des Moines is closing.
I saw three shows there:
  1. Gomez
  2. Fear Factory
  3. Bayside
Good place. I didn't make it to nearly as many great shows that they hosted, but when I was there, it was an awesome place.

The Week Ahead... and a Purge

Once again, this is going to be a busy week.

Tomorrow is my work's client conference. I am at the conference from 7 AM - ~11:40 and then I go back to my cubicle and work.

Tuesday and Wednesday, I am not at the conference.

Thursday, I have a project that I need to work on from 8-2 b/c I have meetings from 2-5 (basically).

Friday, I am on vacation. Yeah!

I've been collecting a lot of things I wanted to write about so this is a purge of those things.

Here's something to think about. I recently picked a new primary care doctor. Aftertwo visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned sixty-something.) A little concerned about that comment, I couldn'tresist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?' He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer, wine or hard liquor? 'Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!' Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs? I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!' 'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, boating, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?' 'No, I don't,' I said. He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have lots of sex?' 'No,' I said... He looked at me and said,.. 'Then, why do you even give a shit?

The doctor glared at her and shouted, "Youwent ahead and finished your shopping trip, didn't you!? I hope you're proud of yourself! While you were out for the past four hoursenjoying yourself in town, your husband has been languishing in theIntensive Care Unit! It's just as well you went ahead and finished,because it will more than likely be the last shopping trip you evertake! For the rest of his life he will require round-the-clock care. And he will now be your career!" The woman, overcome with guilt, broke down and sobbed.
The woman doctor chuckled and said, "I'm just messing with you. He's dead. Show me what you bought.

Quotes, Styles, Health Care, and My Top 25

First three quotes:

My God... FF is a Soap Opera

A few years back, if you would have told me that Dino Cazares, Fear Factory guitarist, was in a public feud with his ex-bandmates Raymond Herrera and Christian Olde Wolbers, I would have laughed. I admit that when I listened to Archetype, I did not really know the story behind Dino Cazares' departure from the band. All I really knew was that the bassist became the guitarist and whamo! a great release came out of the mix. Now I learn that the full story, according to Cazares, is nothing short of a soap opera.
