When My Family Leaves...
This weekend, Karen, Megan, Alex, and my favorite Mother-in-Law are heading to Wrigley Field in Chicago to see the Cubs. I am not going as I chose to not go. I'm not the hugest baseball fan so missing a Cubs game is okay with me. Anyways, I was thinking about what I could do with myself on Sunday, since I'll be home alone. I flirted with the idea of arranging a jam session - either a Lou's Classic Ride reunion or with James & Matthew & the guy I made contact with through Craigslist, but those ideas have been discarded. Now I'm thinking about how to watch 4 movies at the Collins Road Theater.

Celebrate the Politics of Star Wars
It was 1 year, 3 weeks ago when today, May 4, 2018, seemed like a lifetime away. Embedding a video about Avengers: Infinity War, which is being released today - http://prhmusic.blogspot.com/2017/04/predicting-death.html - didn't make it easier to be patient. And while much of the world continues to celebrate the release of the third Avengers movie - Infinity War - this is a link to an article that was published a year ago all about the politics of Star Wars: Star Wars Is More Political Than You Think. The next Star Wars movie - Solo: A Star Wars Story - is being released on 5/25/18 - a short 3 weeks away!
Speaking of Star Wars, if I didn't have other plans today, I would go see Naomi / Faces Turned Ashen / Running in Place in Cedar Rapids:

Noteworthy to Mention
Just to set up the situation, Marvel’s next big movie, Black Panther, will be released on Feb. 16. It will be followed by Avengers: Infinity War on May 4 and Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6 - and I've embedded the trailers below.
I grew up reading comic books. My favorite was "Justice League" because I loved the way the heroes would split off into teams to go on their own adventure within the context of the larger story. The best example is issue #200 (link below) because it combined the 'old' heroes with the 'new' heroes of the Justice League in an imaginative way.
Personally, I think there's just so many opportunities for the future of the MCU, even if the X-Men, Marvel Universe crossover may not happen for years, Marvel Studios boss says - If it happens at all By Julia Alexander Jan 31, 2018, 9:02am EST.. From my perspective, it's very interesting how the MCU in movies has existed for quite some time - the Wikipedia page has the details about when it started and the chronological order of the movies.
And, just to catch up, here are the best trailers from last month:

Is This Really a Spoiler? Just in Case: SPOILER WARNING!
On the Internet, there's a lot of sites that publish movie and TV show reviews that often have a giant disclaimer "SPOILER WARNING!" as a way for the reader to stop reading if they don't want to know what happens in the movie or the TV show.
I'm wondering when a spoiler warning is really warranted. Case in point, I watch the show "This is Us" on NBC on Tuesday nights. The previous episodes have made it clear that a major character is dead - we've seen the aftermath of his death played out in the living characters on the show.
Thus, I came to this article - with a major spoiler in the title and wondered what the parameters are for issuing a spoiler warning? Is it assumed that if I click on the articles title, I already have watched the previous episodes and know that the major character is dead?
What about for every single article about TV shows that are done? In this era of binge watching TV shows on services like Netflix, does every article about "Lost" or "Prison Break" need a spoiler warning? What if I come across a TV review that was originally published the day after a major event on either of those shows? If I am binge watching, and haven't made it up to the episode being reviewed....
It'd suck to be the one to ruin a show for someone else. I've read spoilers about movies before I see them in the past because I want to know what to look for in the movie. I knew, for example that HS died in a recent Star Wars film, before I saw it. I wanted to watch for nuances that the director inserted as it progressed to that scene. Perhaps the line in the sand can be drawn between movies based upon actual events are exempt from needing to have a spoiler warning whereas movies that are fictional do. For example, articles that were published when the "Titanic" movie was released didn't include a spoiler warning about the ship's status at the end of the movie, right? But if I go to "Black Panther" next month and don't want to know the plot or how it ends (though seeing the character in the trailer for "Avengers: Infinity War" tells me that the character survives whatever dangerous situation he encounters in the movie), then I should be able to shut down my news feeds and walk in 'cold' and without prior knowledge.
