Imagine a DC-Marvel Crossover on a Movie Screen
In the first house I lived in, across the street from our house, lived David Davis. He was older than me. I remember David showed me his dresser in his room and the dresser drawers were full of comic books. I think back to how much I looked up to David as an impressionable youth.
Whenever I mention David Davis, I think it doesn't do him justice unless I write about how he introduced me to Star Wars as well. I distinctly remember he worked at the movie theater - the Plaza Theater by Lindale Mall that is now a tire store (the last time I drove past it anyways). After the movie's release, in the theaters so this happened sometime after May 25, 1977, which means I would have been 7 years, 5 months, 3 weeks (2729 days) old when this happened. David came over to my house and showed me his sketches of the weapons, aliens, weapons, and ships in the movie. I was instantly beyond impressed!
I had another neighbor across the street - Gary Hatfield - who was my age. I remember Gary had an extensive comic book collection. I also remember watching the original Batman TV show in his basement many times.
I mention all of this to convince myself that I grew up reading comic books. I know comic books. Yet, when I see the picture of the upcoming DC - Marvel comic that is being released in March 2022, I feel like I don't know comic books. I don't know who two of the characters are in the picture below.
I'm embarassed to admit that deficiency. Comical
There are terrible TERRIBLE movies that get a sequel and then there are some movies that some people describe as TERRIBLE that do not get a sequel. Justice League is one such movie. This is fan art of what could be the Justice League II movie poster.
Personally, I wouldn't include Green Lantern on the poster as I think I would make his appearance be a surprise. I would have put Aquaman where Green Lantern is located as it would hide Green Lantern's appearance in the movie and it would also make the heroes who have already been introduced in the DCU movies be balanced. I think it's odd that they would pull Shazam (Captain Marvel) into the Justice League movie, but I suppose you can only work with the heroes that have been successful. I am anxious for there to be an actual movie in which Ezra Miller's portrayal of The Flash is explored as well as the Wonder Woman sequel that was due for release in Summer 2020, but due to the COVID-19 crap, I think I read that it is being released straight to digital. I did see a video about how The Rock is going to be releasing a movie about the anti-hero Black Adam and how that movie is going to be the path for Henry Cavill to return to Superman in the DCU movies. There is also a movie coming out in 2021 called "The Batman" which will see Ben Affleck no longer play Batman - a new actor is taking on that role. I suspect it will be the situation like when Michael Keaton was replaced by George Clooney and Val Kilmer in the Batman movies that were released in the 1990s - it'll be the same character, just played by a different actor.

Noteworthy to Mention
Just to set up the situation, Marvel’s next big movie, Black Panther, will be released on Feb. 16. It will be followed by Avengers: Infinity War on May 4 and Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6 - and I've embedded the trailers below.
I grew up reading comic books. My favorite was "Justice League" because I loved the way the heroes would split off into teams to go on their own adventure within the context of the larger story. The best example is issue #200 (link below) because it combined the 'old' heroes with the 'new' heroes of the Justice League in an imaginative way.
Personally, I think there's just so many opportunities for the future of the MCU, even if the X-Men, Marvel Universe crossover may not happen for years, Marvel Studios boss says - If it happens at all By Julia Alexander Jan 31, 2018, 9:02am EST.. From my perspective, it's very interesting how the MCU in movies has existed for quite some time - the Wikipedia page has the details about when it started and the chronological order of the movies.

A Bit Longer than Lent
So many hopefully great movies will be released in the next 44 days!
In chronological order, I am excited to see "Thor: Ragnorak" in the theater.
A couple of weeks later, the "Justice League" movie opens on November 15th! AWESOME Sauce!
And then we get to the big one. Every time I see any trailer for "The Last Jedi," whether it is the first or fiftieth time, my heart swells in anticipation. Of the three in this post, I fully admit that "The Last Jedi" has caused me the most excitement. I won't be a 'crazy Star Wars fan' who camps outside the theater on opening day, but before it leaves the theater, I will see it. The movie opens on December 15, 2017, a short 44 days from now.
I was anxious to listen to what Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, has to say.
I'm pretty sure I've used the fact that a movie opens around 40 days from the day I posted in other posts, but if the religious analogy works, work it! <grin>
