Leash on a Freak
I'll admit that I was not a huge Korn fan when they first released their
music. I have never gone out of my way to listen to Korn so when I saw that Rick Beato was going to talk about a Korn tune, I was initially hesitant. While I learn a lot when I listen to Rick Beato about music, mainly because I've never taken a piano or guitar lesson, I don't really consider Korn's music to be overly complex.
There's something interesting about the name of this tune, which is called "Freak on a Leash." I wonder if the tune ever had a temporary name and, if it did, was it called "Leash on a Freak"? I know that within the lyrics, Jonathan Davis sings the true title of the tune ("Freak on a Leash") but that doesn't mean the title of the tune couldn't be the reverse of the lyrics. In this instance, the real title puts the emphasis on the word "freak" whereas if it was called "Leash on a Freak," the emphasis would be on the word "leash" which likely means that they wanted the focus to be on the word "freak," which goes along with the way that Korn presented their image.
That said, I like the information in this video.

What *is* Nu Metal?!?
Personally, I don't consider Incubus or Kid Rock "nu metal", but okay, whatever.
I've seen these "book your concert with a budget" graphics before for other genres. What irks me with 99.9% of these "book your concert with a budget" graphics is that there is never enough in the budget to get one from each row. You would need a budget of [10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 =] $150 to do so.
As for my ideal concert?
$10 - Sevendust
$20 - Papa Roach
$30 - Incubus
$40 - Linkin Park (but only if Chester Bennington sang, otherwise, none)
$50 - Slipknot (but only because I saw Korn in 2017 at Chicago Open Air)
Out of those 15 bands, I've seen 4 - Korn, Papa Roach, P.O.D, and Sevendust, but if I factor in the number of times I've seen Papa Roach (Memphis, Moline, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines so 4 times), and the number of times I've seen Sevendust (Cedar Rapids x 2, a couple of minutes in Waterloo when they were an unannounced / unadvertised opener for Five Finger Death Punch), I get pushed up to 10. <grin>

From 2014
There's some interesting things in this video - but there are some bad words.
They are one of Alex's favorite bands. I enjoyed seeing them at Chicago Open Air 2017.

May 2017 Part II
Metallica has announced that they will play at the 2017 edition of Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH, per this website:per this website - There are MANY of the 58 bands listed that interest me. Here's the list & under the list, is the poster that looks cool and enticing. Too bad Alex is still in school on 5/19 (a Friday) so he'd miss Friday, plus we'd probably have to drive on Thursday (5/18) to get there. He'd miss 2 days of school.
The Rock On The Range music lineup includes:

Motionless in White
So, when Korn & Breaking Benjamin show up for their concert on 9/27 in Cedar Rapids, IA at the U.S. Cellular Center, they will have this band as one of the opening acts. I'm not super-duper familiar with their tunes and after listening to the video below, I'm not convinced I want to be, but I'm not convinced I wouldn't want to see them in concert. Alex, for his part, is super stoked about the possibility of seeing them in concert. I would be more interested in seeing Breaking Benjamin (at this point) than any of the other 3 bands (Silver Snakes is the 4th band that is on the bill and they opened for Bring Me the Horizon in Clive, IA, back in May).
All this to say the jury is still out.

Upcoming Incorrect
Bryan Adams is coming to Cedar Rapids, IA, for a concert at the US Cellular Center. I've never felt compelled to write about Bryan Adams on this blog, but I've always liked his tunes. I used to listen to "Cuts Like a Knife" on cassette repeatedly, though, there's been too many miles between then and now to cite a track on that release other than the title cut. I also liked the release "Reckless" but not because of the hit single "Summer of '69." I really liked the tune "Somebody." There was something magical about the guitar riff and even the guitar solo that speaks to me. I am humming the tune now (silently).
Set aside all of the above and look at the announcement I received through an email:
It's really close, but there's a problem with the date. As you can see below, September 18, 2016, is not a Monday - it's a Sunday. That makes a big difference as far as whether I'd be able to swing going to the show as far as scheduling and such.
As I sit here on a Wednesday in September, attending this show is unlikely to happen. I would rather see one or both of these shows instead:
I've never seen Korn, Motionless in White (Alex told me last night he likes their music), or REO Speedwagon in concert which means, yes, I've seen BB, Silver Snakes (they opened for Bring Me the Horizon in Clive when Alex and I went to see them last month), Def Leppard, and Tesla. When I saw Tesla, they were the HEADLINER and had Great White and Badlands open for them. Now they get the (crappy) opening slot on a 3 band bill. Meanwhile, yes, over in Moline, IL, there are at least three concerts I'd like to see:
"Make America Rock Again" is a multi-band concert with the following bands:

Judas Priest, Alter Bridge, Theory of a Deadman, Pop Evil, Otherwise, Fuel all at the same concert?!? And the next day, seeing Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Buck Cherry, Papa Roach, P.O.D., and HellYeah in concert?!? I haven't read the details, but I hope there isn't three stages going at the same time.
Bands Scheduled to Appear on Day One:
