ADTR IP and B

If Alex were not at UNI in Cedar Falls, I'm 100% sure we'd be at this concert two weeks from today. Instead, this is the concert I'm not going to but wish I was going to with Alex two weeks from today:

Gasoline

I Prevail is a band that Alex likes. They are one of the opening bands for a A Day to Remember concert in Des Moines, IA, along with another of Alex's favorite bands, Beartooth. Alex has seen both I Prevail and Beartooth at Gabes in downtown Iowa City, IA. I took Alex to Clive, IA, to see I Prevail with two other bands - Pierce the Veil and ... it'll come to me later today probably - and I thought they were good. I have a picture of the I Prevail drummer, Alex, me, and the I Prevail guitarist.

The tune below is from their latest album. I was initially turned off by it and still am, in some respects, because the theme of "Burn it all down" is a theme that feels prevalent in other tunes by other bands - it doesn't feel original. The fact that the singer uses the word "f*ck" with all of its variations each time they arrive at the chorus doesn't help me like the tune either.

Thus, the video below is for a tune that I wish I liked better. I do think the storyline of the character is interesting and probably is aligned with the struggles that people in that situation endure. I feel blessed I have not gone through what the main character goes through in any shape in my own life; I have not felt like the main character feels.

In summary, I like the storyline of the video but am not a huge fan of the actual music. I think I Prevail can probably do better. I will probably listen to them today as I do my final preparation for the IT Audit next week, on Thursday, September 19, 2019.

As aforementioned, if you do not like adult words, the video below is probably not for you.
