Heart serves up Hot Hits for Hot 4th of July 2012 Celebration
This is a concert review from when my family and I were in Saint Louis on July 4, 2012, and Heart was performing under the Arch. They started their set with "Magic Man" and while I like that tune, it is a terrible set opener - it is too slow to get a crowd excited and pumped up. I Survived the Iowa Casino Tour 2023!
From Monday, 6-26-2023, through Friday, 6-30-2023, I was on the Iowa Casino Tour 2023. While I will upload pictures and write words about the trip as well as process the 98 emails I sent to myself while on vacation so I may consider whether the content should be converted to a blog post, here's a bird's eye summary.

- Amount of $ Lost at the Casinos (total):
- Somewhere between $80 and $70 - I cashed out a lot of tickets with coins and didn't count that amount prior to adding it to my Culligan water jug in the den where I store all of my coins.

Not Funny but Funny
Editor's Note: Obviously, NO, it's not funny that a woman was killed.
During our vacation to Cleveland, OH, last week, Karen mentioned that she would like to visit a beach as that would be a great vacation for her. I am never one to shy away from seeing both sides of an idea which is why I had to chuckle when I saw this article: Woman killed on South Carolina beach by umbrella caught up in gust of wind.

The First of 70
Today is my first day back at work after a much-needed and well-deserved vacation. We were in Elkader from Friday, 7/19, through Sunday, 7/21. On Monday, 7/22, Karen, Megan, Alex, and I headed north to Wisconsin Dells, WI, where we stayed at the Wilderness Resort. We did a lot of fun things up there including, but not limited to:
So, to begin, this is the preview of an email that was in my inbox. I thought it would be a good post on this blog because CSS is an area of interest to me because of my work with the Disaster Recovery documentation and Knowledge Management projects. I am not proficient with CSS - I borrow, beg, and retrofit more than I write fresh original CSS rules so any opportunity to learn is one I will embrace. The problem with the screen capture below is that, somehow, the actually CSS code displays in the email preview, which should not happen.

Inkcarceration Looks AWESOME!
This looks SO awesome!
Want to know the sad thing about it? I don't know who would go with me to see this concert, other than Alex. It'd be a day-long drive to get to the concert. Also, I noticed that Cleveland, OH, which is where the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is located, is under 2 hours away from this concert. Thus, to me, if I am that close to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it would make sense to go see that as well. Thus, if the concert is on a Friday - Saturday - Sunday, it would make sense to go through the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame prior to the concert. It'd be a neat plan to drive out to OH on Tuesday, July 9, going through the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Wednesday, July 10, and then driving to Mansfield, OH, on Thursday, July 11. Since it's a short drive between Cleveland and Mansfield, the rest of Thursday, July 11, could be a cushion to relax and rest up prior to the next 3 days. Part of the concert seems to be to tour the prison that the Shawshank Redemption movie was filmed, which is my favorite movie of all time.
Sounds like a great plan!

And by Removing this, I Return to the Work World
I just removed the following Out of Office automatic reply within Outlook:
It feels good to be back to work. The vacation was good - I played some decent golf and spent quality time with both Louis (my father-in-law) and Alex (my son) and Megan (my daughter) and Karen (my wife) and Jean (my mother-in-law). That said, I'm actually ready to be out of the consistent heat & humidity and to return to my air-conditioned work environment.
I took a lot of screenshots on my cell phone while I was on vacation. I had originally thought I would create a post for each day of vacation and put the screenshots from the day into the post. However, I also am aware that the total post count for June 2018 was inflated because of doing many posts from my cell phone with a single screenshot or a link. I also know I have a lot of emails I sent to myself regarding what I can best summarize as related to politics, which I will add to the page on this blog that is dedicated to politics. I'm sure the rest will shake itself out.
