Getting Ready for Tomorrow

From reading https://www.fandom.com/articles/the-batman-main-players, I now know that the long-awaited "The Batman" movie is being released today in Austrailia on 3-3-2022, which means, of course, that on Tuesday, 3-22-2022, I plan to be at the Coral Ridge Mall Theaters watching the movie. I go to movies on Tuesdays because a ticket is $5.00 and I have plans on Tuesdays until then.
  • 3-8-2022--Seeing Sepultura - Sacred Reich - Crowbar at The Wildwood
  • 3-15-2022--Would like to see Papa Roach - Bad Wolves - Third band - at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids - though I don't have a ticket for this concert. I've seen Papa Roach several times in concert previously and they always put on a great show... hmmm

This is a Relief!

This is the new date for the cancelled Sepultura / Sacred Reich / Crowbar / 4th band concert that was originally scheduled for tomorrow night. The new date is 171 days (5 months, 2 weeks, 4 days) from now and is already on my calendar!

I'm just glad that it wasn't rescheduled for a Friday or Saturday or Sunday in September as it is likely that we would be at the camper in Elkader.

Big News!!

I picked up 2 tickets for $62.12 so that Jason L & I can see Sepultura, Sacred Reich, Crowbar, and Art of Shock at The Wildwood Saloon in Iowa City on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

Serbi is coming down from Anamosa to see the show as well.

This means that I went to Setlist.fm and located the most recent setlists for each of the bands. I was successful in my search for Sepultura, Sacred Reich, & Crowbar, but Art of Shock is not on setlist.fm.

Sepultura - 2019-12-22 -- Espaço Náutico Marine Club, Belém, Brazil

Sacred Reich -2019-12-14 -- Backstage Halle, Munich, Germany

Crowbar - 2019-12-07 -- Max Watt's House of Music, Melbourne, Australia

Art of Shock - no setlist on setlist.fm so here's a video showing their drummer in action:

Hopefully I Win Tix

I submitted my name to win tickets to the GWAR show in Des Moines on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 through this article: We're Giving Away A Pair of Tickets to Each Stop of GWAR's "Use Your Collusion" Tour.

The reason I would want to win tickets to that concert is because I would love to see one of the opening bands, Sacred Reich, who I've never had the opportunity to see live. I can not name a single GWAR tune. If I won tickets, I would likely drive to Des Moines, see Sacred Reich play, attempt to get an autograph, and then drive back home.

Found This Instead

This article - Album Review: SACRED REICH Awakening - prompted me to look for the entire Awakening album on youtube.com. Instead, I found this, which does not include the the entire Awakening album:

Best Midwest Date is a Wednesday in Chicago

I like Sacred Reich, especially the tunes "I Never Said Good-bye" and "Crawling" so when I saw the headline that they were going on a world tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary as a band, I was hopeful they would come near me.

Nope.

The closest date they have on tour is playing in Chicago on a Wednesday (9/20) so I will not be able to see them in concert.

Getting Help

Big news for Kataklysm!
  • Per this article, "drummer Max Duhamel announced on April 8 that he was taking a break from KATAKLYSM to deal with issues related to alcohol abuse." Sorry, I missed that. I will pray for his return to the band.
  • The band also announced that they recorded a "top notch" of Sacred Reich's "The American Way" during the sessions for their upcoming Waiting For The End To Come release, which is tentatively due in October. Since Sacred Reich is *criminally* overlooked as a great thrash metal band, here's my favorite song by them:

    • And here are the lyrics
      • I've taken you for granted, I've known you since I was born.
And all of a sudden, you've been taken, now your gone.
There's so much, for me to say.
I'm afraid It's much too late, you've been taken away.

I wanted you, to see me succeed.
To make you proud, and have you close to me.
But now that you're gone, it brings tears to my eyes.
I miss you so much, I never said goodbye.

        I never said goodbye.

Your memory lives on, your close to my heart.
I think of you, and we're not apart.
There's so much, for me to say.
I'm afraid it's much to late, you've been taken away.

I'm afraid it's much to late, you've been taken away, yeah.

I wanted you, to see me succeed.
To make you proud, and have you close to me.
But now that you're gone, it brings tears to my eyes.
I miss you so much, I never said goodbye.

        I never said goodbye.
