SB Coming to D!
Sebastian Bach is going to play Skid Row's 1989 Debut Album In Full and the tour includes a stop in Dubuque, IA, at the Q Casino on Saturday, September 21, 2019. One thing to note is who Bach has touring with him:

Bobby Jarzombek is a MONSTER drummer! I will definitely start looking for videos after the tour begins for videos to confirm that he is still slaying on the drums. I know of him from his days in Riot. It was Scott Golden, who was the lead singer in my first band Assume (later renamed to Azalea) who introduced them to me. I listened to Thundersteel many times 'back in the day' and then, in 1990, I purchased The Privilege of Power on cassette - I embedded both albums below.
In summary, if I end up seeing Sebastian Bach, I will be very happy because I will see Jarzombek as well.
The tour will run from August 30 to November 2 and will feature a backing band of Sebastian Bach guitarist and vocalist Brent Woods, Fates Warning drummer Bobby Jarzombek, and UFO bassist Rob DeLuca.

By the way, you don't have to live in a large city to get a good Linux job these days. It's becoming very common for companies to hire non-local Linux talent.
I'm just one of many examples. I've worked remotely for several years now. I love it because I can work from anywhere there's an Internet connection: From home, from my parent's house, and from a hotel room while the rest of my family enjoys the pool. (Ok, it's not always perfect, but it sure beats commuting!)

Here are a few to watch out for:· Linux Administrator· Linux System Administrator· Linux System Engineer· Linux Engineer· Operations Engineer· SRE (Site Reliability Engineer)· DevOps Engineer· Platform Engineer· SysadminOf course, there will be even more variations to the job titles when you add prefixes such as "Junior" or "Senior" to the mix. You'll also find plural forms of the some of the words such as "Linux Systems Engineer".

What *is* Nu Metal?!?
I've seen these "book your concert with a budget" graphics before for other genres. What irks me with 99.9% of these "book your concert with a budget" graphics is that there is never enough in the budget to get one from each row. You would need a budget of [10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 =] $150 to do so.
As for my ideal concert?
$10 - Sevendust
$20 - Papa Roach
$30 - Incubus
$40 - Linkin Park (but only if Chester Bennington sang, otherwise, none)
$50 - Slipknot (but only because I saw Korn in 2017 at Chicago Open Air)
Out of those 15 bands, I've seen 4 - Korn, Papa Roach, P.O.D, and Sevendust, but if I factor in the number of times I've seen Papa Roach (Memphis, Moline, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines so 4 times), and the number of times I've seen Sevendust (Cedar Rapids x 2, a couple of minutes in Waterloo when they were an unannounced / unadvertised opener for Five Finger Death Punch), I get pushed up to 10. <grin>

Loving this Storyline
At first blush, putting the mega-powerhouse Samoa Joe in a storyline with Rey Mysterio felt like a bad idea because it has been done many times throughout Mysterio's career.
I can remember Mysterio fighting so many "monsters" who outmatched his size like me to an ant, only to watch Mysterio miraculously pull a move out of his arsenal to secure the win. Read about some of those moments here. A decade ago, there was this article - Rey Mysterio Jr.: Greatest High Flyer of Our Time or an Overated Old Man? - which I hesitated even mentioning since there are no specific examples of the type of matches I'm talking about. When Mysterio defeated Samoa Joe, it took me by surprise, even though, like I just said, Mysterio's pro wrestling career has literally been about facing an opponent with more strength and more height. The dude is billed as weighing 175 pounds and stands at 5' 6" whereas Samoa Joe is billed as 282 pounds and stands at 6′ 2" - so 8" shorter and 107 pounds lighter than Samoa Joe.
This is what happened last night when I was at the Mushroomhead concert in Iowa City:

A Decade Has Passed Since This
830 Drums
Alex took these pictures after I had set up my drums in our basement on June 2, 2009. The clear drums are my original set that I've had since 1984 and the colored drums were the ones that were in our church's storage room that I was told I could have. I'm not very good at playing two kick drums but I liked the way the set looks with the clear on one side and the dark on the other. In the years between the following pictures and today, I gave the non-clear drums to Dennis, who has a basement full of drums and who used to teach piano to the kids.I still have the clear drums . . . and will even when I am in the nursing home!
