Yesterday, in 1983, Metallica released their debut album, Kill ‘Em All.
While the band’s style has greatly evolved, I think the album remains a classic. I thoroughly enjoy the roughness of the material. I love the lyrics in "Motorbreath" when James Hetfield sings, "Those people who tell you not to take chances / they are all missing on what life is about." I find them inspirational.
The title of this post refers to the original name of this release "Metal Up Your Ass." The record company wouldn't release it with that title so they went with the less offensive "Kill 'Em All" instead. [smirk]
