First Debate of 2020

I could only have the Vice President Debate on for a few minutes. Karen looked up from her iPad and said, "Who is the guy on the left? He's with Hillary? I don't like him - he's annoying."

I thought he was condescending. Perhaps the "biggest" takeaway from the night is when Megyn Kelly got the HRC spokesman to say that HRC "ended" Iran's nuclear program. According to this fact checking site - which I have never visited so I don't know whether it leans Left or Right - this is the opinion about Kaine's statement:,

Kaine said Hillary Clinton eliminated the Iran nuclear weapons program.

A stretch.

Kaine's assessment gives Clinton more credit than she or the Obama administration deserves.

It is true that the nuclear agreement sharply cuts back the number of centrifuges and nuclear material Iran can have, prolonging the period of time Iran would need to manufacture a weapon. But it does not eliminate Iran's nuclear infrastructure, and the deal has a sunset clause, meaning Iran will be able to resume its work after the deal expires in 15 years.

I like the idea EE wrote about - Pence articulating conservative values on the national stage - in this article.

There's more analysis here.
