A List of The Best Metal Songs Humbles Me

I simply need to seek out a list like Loudwire's Best Metal Song of Each Year Since 1970 if I ever want to feel like I know nothing about heavy metal. I took their list, stripped out the years, the graphics, and consolidated the actual band / song name into the following list of 98 tunes. My hope is to make a playlist of these tunes so that I may educate myself. I apply the "hum" test to lists like this, which is, if asked to hum the melody of the song, could I do it? I scored a measly 41 out of 98 which, in my defense, I can recognize the three Tool songs in the list, but I'll be damned if I can separately hum them upon request. I also know I would recognize the more of the Judas Priest tunes but, again, I can't hum upon request. Some of the tunes on this list are from my favorite CDs.
