The closest to Iowa I saw on the ticketmaster.com website was an October 8, 2018, date at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL. Eternally curious, I looked at the tickets. Granted, the "public onsale date" is Friday, August 10, 2018, so I'd think there will be reasonably priced tickets available on that day. However, for now? A ticket for this event is $550! And that's not even the first row?!? Regardless of the price, I'm not going to Chicago to see WWE.

I don't Love Pro Wrestling to Spend $550 for a Ticket!!
While I was printing tickets for going to "Sister Act" in Dubuque on Thursday, July 19, 2018, I was curious if WWE was returning to Iowa soon. It is not.
Skip Iowa? OK!!!
The Smashing Pumpkins are not on my list of bands I really want to see live. I like a short list of their tunes, such as "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" and "Cherub Rock" but beyond those two, I get into the "I really do not like this band" mode very quickly. Thus, when I scan this list of their upcoming tour dates, which I'm including here only as a means to show that, once again, bands skip playing in Iowa while not skipping Chicago, Kansas City, Omaha, & St. Paul (the Twin Cities), I'm not heartbroken by the fact that they did skip Iowa. The Smashing Pumpkins used to play at Gabes Oasis (I'm told) prior to 'making it big' on the national scene but there's no love for Iowa now. I guess I can also point out that their tour skips Milwaukee & St. Louis, which are the other two area cities that usually are included in the list of cities a band will play. Anyways, here's the tour dates and NO, I'm not going to Chicago, Kansas City, the Twin Cities, or Omaha to see them on this tour! Oh, by the way, I'm also not giving a rat's behind about the way the table looks, mainly because I don't care about the band.

Race Card Played in Typical Fashion
The headline screams, "89-Year-Old Resorts To Urinating In Public After Gas Station Won’t Let Her Use Bathroom" and declares in the tagline how "“I feel like we need some type of public apology,” the woman’s granddaughter said."" in the article by
David Moye, which was published on 07/02/2018 05:29 PM ET, and then updated around 8 pm last night.
But know what?
The gas station doesn't have a public bathroom.
It was not a racist gas station attendant - it was a company policy in effect for years.
YEARS!! Not "because she is black, we are going to discriminate."
Damn!
Here's the link to read about the non-racist incident:

And by Removing this, I Return to the Work World
I just removed the following Out of Office automatic reply within Outlook:
It feels good to be back to work. The vacation was good - I played some decent golf and spent quality time with both Louis (my father-in-law) and Alex (my son) and Megan (my daughter) and Karen (my wife) and Jean (my mother-in-law). That said, I'm actually ready to be out of the consistent heat & humidity and to return to my air-conditioned work environment.
I took a lot of screenshots on my cell phone while I was on vacation. I had originally thought I would create a post for each day of vacation and put the screenshots from the day into the post. However, I also am aware that the total post count for June 2018 was inflated because of doing many posts from my cell phone with a single screenshot or a link. I also know I have a lot of emails I sent to myself regarding what I can best summarize as related to politics, which I will add to the page on this blog that is dedicated to politics. I'm sure the rest will shake itself out.
