In May 2017 (from 5/4 - 5/31), the pedometer on my cell phone says I walked 194746 steps over 27 days for an average of 7213 steps per day. The ideal number of steps per day is 10,000 so, in May, I should have walked 270000 steps. I was 75254 steps short but I still had a respectable percentage for the month at 72%.
In June 2017 (from 6/1 - 6/16), the pedometer on my cell phone says I walked 98932 steps over 15 days for an average of 6595 steps per day. The ideal number of steps per day is 10,000 so, in June, I should walk 300000 steps. I am 1/2 way through the month but have only walked 33% of the number of steps I should have by now.
Projecting out for the rest of the month (6/17 - 6/30 [13 days]), I
should walk an additional 85735 steps to bring me up to 184667 for the
month of June, which is a 10079 less steps than May. In order to meet or
exceed the 194746 steps in June, I need to walk an average of 7370
steps per day. In order to hit the 300000 steps for June, I need to make up the 51068 steps I didn't walk from 6/1 - 6/15. That means walking an average of 15467 steps a day, starting tomorrow.
Thus far in June, I am walking 618 fewer steps per day (on average) than I did in May.
I am only thinking / writing about this because of this article:
