THE TEAM
Technical Writer will work within the Data Services team at Live Nation. Data Services manages data ingestion, processing, delivery, and governance of data for Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
THE ROLE
In this role, you will get the opportunity to be a key contributor towards a holistic content development strategy for Live Nation including improving the internal style guide standards. Live Events are back, and the business is growing at a tremendous rate. This role is crucial in enabling the company to use data to take live events to the next level.
You will collaborate across the organization to research and develop usable documentation that enables a wide range of audiences to learn about and use our data products and systems.
You will also evaluate the information architecture of our documentation sites and our existing content to optimize its usability. You’ll be in charge of creating and combining various forms of content including technical documentation, training materials, guides, policies, and best practices for delivery via multiple mediums including video scripts. The ideal candidate would have working knowledge of information management and some exposure to data governance.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Create and modify technical documentation including user manuals and guides, data products documentation, training manuals, procedures manuals etc.
Research highly technical subject matter, collaborate with internal teams and SMEs, synthesize information from multiple sources, and express technical information in a form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
Analyze existing artifacts, enhance and multi-purpose content, focusing on reuse.
Review materials for accuracy, flow, grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting and branding.
Actively look for best practices through attending webinars, training, and conferences.
Demonstrate understanding of the UX design concepts on issues like navigation, page routing, product page design, etc.
Maintain an internal enterprise documentation library for Data Services.
Edit, standardize, or revise material prepared by other writers or personnel.
Develop templates, best practices, and standards for various types of documentation.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Passion for your role and team orientation.
2-5 years of experience in a technical writing role designing and delivering documentation targeted at developers, DevOps, or infrastructure and operations teams.
Excellent command of the English language and a well-developed understanding of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Business, or other relevant discipline.
Basic SQL proficiency, understanding of relational databases, modern data warehouse and data lake technologies, APIs, data platforms.
Familiarity with version control and content management systems, and working knowledge of information management.
Experience with development and maintenance of document repositories or knowledge management tools such as Confluence.
Bonus Points for:
Providing a portfolio of writing samples.
Data governance experience.
Experience working in organizations with geographically dispersed teams and complex technical environments.
