Good Tip
I have a folder with 884 .txt files and I wanted to combine them into one. Because I have had external hard drive (EHD) issues with the EHD these files are stored on, I can't see the content of several files.
I used to have a freeware software to combine .txt files, but I haven't seen that freeware lately so I went to Google and found an article which is great, but the method in the article doesn't allow me to identify, by file name, which .txt files of the 884 are actually corrupt. Loudwire Needs an Editor!
In April 2017, the group announced plans to take a break, though a 5-song EP titled Dog Years and a second live album arrived just a few months later. The music would have tide fans over as the break extended a couple of years. The band reunited for a month-long tour in 2019, but the pandemic shut down any future plans until they returned with a third album, 2023’s III.

Matches like this one are not new. The three current "good guys" take on the "bad guys" stable which, in this case, is called "Judgment Day" with Finn Balor and others as members. I have not watched Monday Night Raw as it was being aired on USA Network in a very long time - perhaps not once in the last 3 years. It's kind of ironic. I used to wonder what it would be like to go downstairs every Monday night from 7-10 and be able to watch 3 hours of pro wrestling without being pulled away from Monday Night Raw by kids. I used to think that when Karen and I were living in our empty nest, I would have all the free time in the world. My reality? Nope!

I Like Looking at 200 Page College-Ruled Spiral Notebooks
I haven't wrote about writing in my journal lately, but I continue to do so. I am currently writing in Volume 5, section IV, page 44, which is exactly half-way through the 88 pages in the section. The date range assigned to this section is 8-14-2023 --> 8-31-2023. For the 10 Year Project that began on 1-1-2012 and ended on 12-31-2021, I had a schedule written out with each month assigned to a section in an Excel file with a cell for each month. I began a second 10 year project on 1-1-2022 (which ends on 12-31-2031) but I have not created a schedule for this current 10 year project. I do have several empty 200 Page College-Ruled Spiral Notebooks in the closet in the den for this project in the basement of the house.

What to Do in St Louis?
As I click Publish, there are 77 days until my trip to St. Louis with Matthew to see Metallica. We are leaving on Thursday, 11-02, and will return home on Monday, 11-6. I recently found out that there's a great local band playing at Pop's in Sauget, IL, on Saturday, 11-4. I've never been to Pop's in Sauget, IL, but I know there are a lot of bands that I would like to see in concert that play there. For example, if I lived in the Saint Louis area, I would likely attend all three of these concerts:
However, I won't be going to any of them because I can't justify the 10+ hours in the car (roundtrip) to see any of those bands. Of the 5 bands listed, I've seen "The Devil Wears Prada" in concert. I also can say that Devildriver played at Chicago Open Air 2017. I could have seen them playing from a distance, but I have no specific memory of that. I remember Alex and I went to Mass on Sunday morning, but I don't recall what time we arrived at the concert. Here is the lineup from that day:
All of that is nice to reflect upon as I think about going to see New Lingo at Pop's in Sauget, IL. This is a map from our hotel to the venus - a short 8 minute drive:

Technical Writers: The Unsung Heroes of Customer Experience
Lately, I don't really think about "technical writing" as an industry nearly as much as in days past. I can cite the reality that, in 2023, I didn't create a post with the "Technical Writing" label until Tuesday, March 14, 2023, and that post was simply a link to elsewhere - https://prhmusic.blogspot.com/2023/03/blog-post.html - with zero words written by me. I'm unsure why this is the case as I still go to work and when I arrive, I am a Senior Technical Writer - that is still my title and that is still my role. Maybe that is why the article below made me revisit this idea that I have had in my head for quite a while, which is to explain that yes, my title and role is that of a Senior Technical Writer, but no, I do not do the work of a traditional Senior Technical Writer. I consider the traditional role of a Senior Technical Writer to be the role of learning a subject area to the degree that documentation about that subject area can be written. I don't do that. I consider myself to be more of a Documentation Assembler. For the 3 major projects with which I am involved, I rely on other co-workers to write documentation and then, in some instances, I may proofread the content, but in 90% of the work I do, I don't even proofread or edit the content. Literally, I assemble the work of others into a cohesive presentation of the content that is then distributed. That statement is true for
- The Disaster Recovery documentation project
- The Knowledge Management project
- The Operations Manual project
I'm not complaining as the way I do my work is aligned with what I like to do. I like to write DOS batch files in a folder with

and eliminate a bunch of files until there are only 8379 files with only the following file types:

I doubt many Senior Technical Writers are like me.
