The Muse Content team creates compelling and informative programs with major employers to help job seekers better understand what it’s like to work there. The Content Strategist role ideates these programs, which span reported articles, infographics, video, and more. This role contributes to the pre-sale as well as post-sale process, specifically focused on pitch creation, distribution, and content performance.

This position reports to the Chief Content Officer and is a highly cross-functional role that collaborates across our Content, Production, Revenue, and Business Intelligence teams. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about our mission, excited to develop service-oriented content programs, and eager to contribute new ideas that help shape and evolve content at The Muse.

How you’ll make an impact

  • You’ll work closely with the Sales and Account Management teams on client pitches and represent the Content team in pre- and post-sale conversations
  • You’ll lean into your editorial instincts to develop user-centric programs focused on engaging storytelling, while meeting the needs of clients
  • You’ll live in the data, leveraging historical performance to create strategic recommendations for clients, as well as contextualizing performance of live campaigns to account managers
  • You’ll attend weekly meetings with our Editorial team to share knowledge and generate new ideas
  • You’ll work with The Muse Revenue Org to understand client needs, contribute to pitches, contextualize content performance trends, and support trainings
  • You’ll actively contribute to developing new content products and iterating on existing ones

  • You'll have 5 + years of strong experience creating editorially-driven content strategy at a digital media company or agency
  • You understand users and service-oriented content. You know how to create compelling content programs that address users’ needs and perform organically
  • You can distill concepts into sharp, polished pitches that appeal to clients
  • You have experience working with clients and are confident representing Content in client meetings
  • Bonus if you have experience creating content strategy about diversity & inclusion issues in the workplace, and/or knowledge of current issues around workplace D&I
  • You have very strong communication skills—you’re able to convey content strategy in a way that’s approachable and easy to understand
  • You enjoy working collaboratively within and across teams, and you’re motivated to learn about and help solve the challenges that other teams face
  • You’re highly strategic and data-driven—you know how to leverage insights to drive content performance
  • You’re organized and a stickler for deadlines
  • SEO experience is a must
