Vilsack snags $150K in Powerball
Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack claimed a $150,000
Powerball prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Clive, reports the
Quad-City Times. The former Obama-era U.S. Secretary of Agriculture won the
money during the Jan. 22 drawing when the jackpot was $347 million, but forgot
he had bought a ticket. "Then I woke up 10 days later on a Saturday
morning and I said, 'Oh, geez, I wonder how I did?'" Mr. Vilsack told KCCI
his church and kids will get some of the money and "the
rest is going to go to my banker" to pay down a mortgage "to the
point where retirement can be a little bit more comfortable than it might have
otherwise been."
