A University of Iowa student who fell from a light pole has died.

Friends of 21-year-old Kyle Leeney confirmed his death to CBS2/FOX28 on Monday. He is from Lockport, Illinois. Witnesses tell KGAN CBS2 that the young male was celebrating the Chicago Cubs' World Series victory when he climbed a light pole outside of DC's in the Ped Mall. He was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with major head trauma where he died.
