I saw this on Facebook. I have mixed feelings about war and the military. I sense Spike Cohen is passionate about his opinion and that passion in writing is appealing to me.

I encourage every single person who wants to go to the Ukraine to help defend them, to do exactly that: go there.
Do not send our family member and loved ones who signed up to protect and defend the US to fight, kill, and possibly die for a territorial battle on the other side of the planet.
We have already lost far too many troops to wars of intervention that they should've never been sent to, not to mention the vets who make it home with PTSD and other chronic health issues, vets battling addiction and homelessness, vets in prison (roughly 10% of the prison population), and vets who end up giving up on this life (22 a day on average).
You have no business sending others to risk their lives for something you think they should do, especially if you aren't willing to do it yourself.
As you might expect, the comments were numerous under Cohen's post...
